peek'n in fur a helloooooow

hi everyone, just peek'n in to say hello.

M & S have been really busy so not much go'n on besides our daily "bunnie hunts" and our before dawn plark excursions.

M & S are getting ready for a quick trip this week to, i got to stay home this time, the trip is too short. But that means.... CYNTHIA... gets to come over and play... yippee!!!!!!  she takes me for walks.... gives me lots and lots of cookies...take me for more walks....and best Yorba Doggie Hotel. I LOVE CYNTHIA

update on Rodney... i watched diligently day and night, even had a little help from my sis "the cat" and Rodney still avoided being caught for relocation into the canyon. (yotie food-HA!) so, sadly M had to get out the big guns, an old fashioned snap-trap, and Rodney is now raiding the big "peanut feeder" in the sky.

rain'n and rodney

i woke this morning just knowing that the bunnies were going to be out and about and what did i find....
both M & S snuggled in their beds tell'n me "not this morning jess, it's rain'n and too muddy."

mudd?~~~ how does a little mudd hurt anyone... geeze.... went outside to check it out. the smell of the fresh air was intoxicating, but still couldn't get those too lazy bones out of bed and on our "morning bunny hunt!"

forgot to mention yesterday that we have had a great week with the bunnies last week. first few days we didn't see a tail anywhere, all of us were wonder'n what was up, but then we started seeing those "hoppers" taking off, i nearly caught one-had my nose to its tail.

 total for last week

the other interesting thing and a new job for me is the new unwanted resident in M's garden, which she has named Rodney...the rat. let me tell you, M has done just about everything she can to get this little guy to move on. she even got out the rat zapper and Rodney was TOO big, so she bought a larger one and he still is so big that the power on the zapper barely effects him. when she tore apart her garden potting area to try and find his nest....she found over 4 pounds of peanuts (from someone's feeder no doubt) stashed everywhere! she cried out to me.

i have been on the lookout-- but lookout Rodney, cause we're gett'n out the big guns.

hamster balls are not just for rodents...

hello everyone, i was laying next to M while she was working on her computer and caught sight of a YouTube (what ever that is) video of an abyssinian kitten playing with a hamster ball. wow~ i have a abyssinian sister and i have a hamster ball story .... so i figured it was a great subject for this week's post.

story of the hamster ball --- by M

A couple of years ago I was taking care of a friend’s hamster for a few days and was told that he liked to run around in his little hamster ball for a large part of the day. Therefore, I put the little guy in his ball and let him loose in the downstairs portion of our home. I went upstairs to do some computer work and could hear the ball occasionally hit a wall or the marble step-up in the entry. After a little while, it occurred to me that this was not just an occasional hitting against a barrier, but something was a miss. As I came down the stairs, I saw Jesse standing with the hamster ball in his mouth. His tail wagging excitedly, his eyes saying….”OMG what a great new toy you got me….” then dropped the ball and gave it a push with his nose, chasing after the rolling hamster.

Loosing my cool for my stupidity of forgetting that Jesse might be in the house when the hamster was in the ball, I screeched to “LEAVE IT!”

When I retrieved the hamster, he was a bit offended, but all right. The little guy survived his ordeal as a “toy” but I know he will forever hate Jesse and me.  When my neighbor returned, I told her what happened, just incase there was some residual problem, and she told me they’ve had the same thing happen more than a couple of times, but with their cats.

That tough little hamster is still rolling around to this day.
