forgotten beach journey...oops

here are some pictures i found and an adventure that was never told....omd! -

living in southern California also means you live close to a beach- as we did, about 25 miles from us they have a "dog beach" just for dogs and their pack leaders. it is terrific and fun. jesse took us to dog beach a couple of times, the first when he was younger than these pictures... he had a lot of fun but we realized that a not so fun phenomena happens when dogs drink the salty sea water.....poops galore !!!!!! i'll not describe further other than we were grateful we had sand to help give some bulk to pick it up.

of course he found a stick, there is always a stick to be found- jesse was the master of stick finding, never wanted to chase and fetch, a stick was for chewing.

making a friend with a beautiful golden retriever they got S to play with them as they ran in and out of the water...oh no don't drink it!

jesse always had a lot of fun, but being big and black, the california sun always made it very hot for our friend so we would head home after a short while.

thank you jesse for the memories

  1. It looks wonderful at the beach, I went to one too but I wasn't allowed to go in the water, it was winter so very cold & windy.
The sand looks great to dig in & never give a stick back to your mummy or daddy, they just throw it away :)
    Love you all

    1. i remember when you took that trip and remember Jesse saying he always imagined that he would be running in the waves with his welsh princess- england a bit nippier than southern ca...woofs!

  2. Great photos and lovely memories, that's what i call a proper beach not like our local beach which is overgrown with grass it's more like marsh land than a sandy beach.

    Thanks for sharing Sheba.

    1. ahh but marshes hide lots of fun things to chase.... ha! hugs!

  3. What a lovely beach for a lovely Bernese to play on!!! Glad you hads a great time!!
    Love Milo :)

  4. M....
I've been a stranger in these parts of Blogville--again!!--it feels so good to be back!! ;-D
Have you read "Marley & Me" by John Grogan? Because. Marley gulped up salt water, too.... I do not recall if he pooped diarrhea, vomited, or both as resulted!! And I have read that book twice!! Darn premature short-term memory loss!! ;op
Love, Raelyn.... Plus Rose, my BEAUTIFULLY UNIQUE "Mystery Dog"!!

  5. That beach looks lovely! I don't get to the beach very often. I only drank the sea the first time I went to the beach - it made me sick, so I don't drink it now.
